The main form of public
transport on Bali is the Bemo. A generic term for any
vehicule used as public transport, it's normally a minibus
or van with a row of low seats down each side. The word
"Bemo" is a contraction of "becak"
(bicycle rickshaw) and "mobil" (car) but Bemos
no longer resemble a motorised rickshaw.
