Bali
Bali is so picturesque that you could
be fooled into thinking it was a painted backdrop: rice
paddies trip down hillsides like giant steps, volcanoes
soar through the clouds, the forests are lush and tropical,
and the beaches are lapped by the warm waters of the
Indian Ocean.
Hot
Springs
Hot springs are beautiful landspaced
with lush tropical plants. We went to relax here for
a few hours.
Eight fierce-faced carved stone "naga"
pour water from a natural host spring into the first
bath, which then overflows, into a second, larger pool.
In the third pool, water pours from 3 m-high spouts
to give you a pummelling massage. The water is slightly
sulphurous and pleasantly hot !
